As the WWP nears the end of its fourth year of implementation, we are commencing a review of the progress made by the project so far, and how might be funded in the future. A review of the deliverables and funding options for the project was also requested by the WEL Energy Trust as part of the current 5-year funding agreement.
We have discussed the review with several potential providers and have selected Natalie Richard of Versus Research to undertake the review. The review will explore the following key questions:
1. What difference has the WWP made to its stakeholders? This review component will address the work that the WWP has completed to date and how this has contributed to the overall outcomes the WWP aims to achieve.
2. What is the most appropriate funding model for the WWP in the future? This component of the review will consider the current funding model and will also explore future funding options.
The review will be focused on the WWP’s achievements to date, the value the deliverables have created for stakeholders, and possible funding options to consider for the future. It is limited to the above questions. The review work will not include a financial analysis of the WWP’s performance, an economic evaluation of the return on investment for the funding received, a best practice review, or a review of the WWP’s governance structure and design.
The initial review report will be provided to the Kaitiaki Advisory Board in January 2025 and a final report will be completed by February.
