The online wellbeing survey opened on the 15th of October, with responses off to a good start. As at mid-November, responses were at just over 400, with higher response rates expected as project partners share and promote the survey through social media channels and via community organisation partners.
The project aims to reach 2,000 responses by 28 February 2025, with enough responses to reflect the ethnic, socio-economic and geographic diversity of the Hauraki rohe. The project team (which includes Te Tara o te Whai and the partner councils) continue to engage with those groups currently underrepresented to raise awareness and engagement.
Ultimately, the number and diversity of the voices we hear will determine the success of the Hauraki Opportunity, so this survey period is key in getting as many responses as possible. Responses are being monitored so that pivots can be made in communication and outreach to best ensure representation of voices across Hauraki, Thames Coromandel and Matamata-Piako.
The survey is open to anybody with an association with the Hauraki rohe. This could be where they live, by whakapapa or through personal, cultural or spiritual association.
