Introducing Hera Denton

In October we announced our Kai Challenge partnership with GoEco. The purpose of the partnership is to ensure that the WWP works with an organisation which is focused not only on better understanding why there is food scarcity in the Waikato but is at the front line of making a difference and is able to convene together other change leaders.

The partnership will see the WWP contribute to funding a new Kai Challenge Lead for a fixed period, and we will share all our insights, stakeholder partnerships and connections with GoEco and the Kai Challenge Lead.

Along with GoEco, we are delighted to welcome Hera Denton to the Waikato Kai Challenge. Through her experience in Project Management, Hera has worked with iwi, hapū and whānau in Māori education and various taiao kaupapa.  This has led to collaboration with knowledge holders in te ao Māori and the Western world.  She is studying to gain a Masters in Māori and Indigenous Leadership at the University of Canterbury with Kai Motuhake as her kaupapa.  In her personal life, she is committed to her partner, their tamariki and their whenua.

Hera will start in her new role in mid-January and will be located at GoEco. For more information please contact Jo Wrigley at manager@goeco.org.nz.
