Harvey Brookes
Executive Director
Harvey brings over three decades of experience in environmental and economic development. Since 2015, he has been instrumental in driving prosperity in the Waikato region, starting with the Waikato Means Business initiative, a framework aimed at sustainable economic growth. In his current role as Executive Director of the Waikato Wellbeing Project, Harvey focuses on localising the UN Sustainable Development Goals within the Waikato community. His leadership in promoting community-driven sustainability has been acknowledged by central government, Tautuarā, and the Productivity Commission.
A proud Waikato native with deep community ties, Harvey complements his professional endeavours with active participation in economic development, boating, and aerospace organisations. An Auckland University alumnus (BA, MA, Honorary Research Fellow), he is also passionate about family, cycling, boating, and snow sports.
