Joe joined the Waikato Wellbeing Project following his impactful roles at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa as an Education to Employment Broker and previously as a Youth Development Advisor at Waikato District Council. Having travelled the world as a singer-songwriter, Joe’s journey of connecting with diverse communities fuelled his desire to effect change. His passion led him to pursue a Master’s in Human Rights and Social Development at the University of Sussex, where he explored the role of the SDGs in enhancing education.

A visionary and creative, Joe is known for his optimistic yet pragmatic approach. His ambition to connect people across sectors aims to foster a more collaborative and future-focused Waikato.

Joe is the creative Director of Lots of Little Fires, a video storytelling initiative dedicated to sharing the stories of unsung heroes who create impactful change within their communities. Through thoughtful storytelling, we bring attention to the initiatives and individuals working tirelessly to make New Zealand a better, more inclusive place for all.
